If I'd have been him I'd have tracked down Jeremy Beadle, a camera crew, and just turned up at the house. He could have disguised himself as the gas man, or found a way into the house while she was at work, so he could burst out of the wardrobe, shouting 'Honey, I'm home!' Even better, just leave a box of Black Magic at the side of her bed, with his signature on a card.
