Dame Judi Dench
What a wonderful actress.Just watched Cranford on BBC1.She is pure class !
Re: Dame Judi Dench
Always was. ITV did a version of Macbeth in the late 1970s with her and Ian McKellan. Instead of the usual over the top harpy portrayal of Lady M, she made the character believable and sympathetic.

A true actress and proper thesp- can morph into most roles, can reject type easily, a master of the art; Hollywood has a lot of reasonable talent, but our gems get grossly over-looked at times..... I rate Nigel Havers and Tom Conti too, Pete Posthlewaite is phenomenal!
Re: Dame Judi Dench
Im sure i 1st saw her in Play School or Jackanory in the mid 60s A few old B/w films too .Taped Cranford yesterday
