Of course staff having better training would help the problem but that requires many things to work such as investment in staff and of course having a level of staffing that would allow the time for them to "care" for the resident.

all these things would require a massive change in funding which while everyone is quick to complain and blame carers/staff they seem to go quiet about the idea of actually paying for these things to happen.

I suggest it would be a good thing for these people to work in the care industry to see how unrealsitic their wish list is.

Dear all,

Yes it was shocking but heres my take on the care industry , you get paid crap (?6 an hour ) to deal with ungrateful and abusive people,who's families have just dumped them there and only visit then make a fuss out of guilt.

The care homes themselves are mostly privately run and designed to make as much money as they can hence cut back on staff as much as they can.

Which results in a ratio of 6 carers per 30 people ! so a chemical cosh is just a tool for a quiet life,dont blame em until you've had a taste of their job.
