I liked Ike, a true pioneer. He might have had a few 'issues' with fame seeking hag Tina, but take that away and you have someone who should be up there with other icons of the 50's like Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly

If you mention Ike Turner everyone kinda homes in on the abuse thing and yet other people are abusive and it's seen as fine. People turn a blind eye to it. Take for example Naomi Campbell .. she's been physically and verbally abusive to sundry employees and yet if you spin it as Naomi being a 'diva' then that's somehow okay.

Ike Turner shouldn't be defined by that behaviour any more than Tina Turner should be.
