It's not a party political issue----SNP, Labour etc all want to get their hands on Trump's money, but the planning regulations are being stomped all over in order to get it, the Scottish government has called the plan in to make sure it goes ahead, and local concerns are being ignored.

Oh, and although the story doesn't say it, the development involves two golf courses, a plush hotel and 1500 houses on an area of special scientific interest.

Not for me to speculate about how the plan is being lubricated, and whether or not the grease comes in brown envelopes.

Trump seems remarkably ignorant as to why it's a site of special scientific interest - and so are those who have interviewed him. I've heard him and his minions say in interviews that they are going to stabilise the dunes, as if that was a good thing. No one has challenged him with the fact that the area is an SSSI partly because the dunes are unstable, giving rise to a different vegetation and wildlife than there would be if they were stable.

On a lighter side. It reminds me of that scene in 'Blackadder' when he says to the Prince: "You don't know what a rotten borough is do you?". The Prince replies: "Err, no". Blackadder says: "What was the chicken impression in aid of then?". Prince: "Well, I just didn't want to hurt you feelings. So, what IS a robber button?".

Don't think Trump cares, to be honest, Alec, and the various politicos up here don't care so long as he spends his billion in Scotland. The whole thing is fishier than a Peterhead trawlerman's sou'wester. Local Hero without the feelgood factor.
