Led Zep tour scrapped

Post by Ace »

Seems Planty has decided to tour with that bird, Alison Krauss he recorded with this year and so scuppering plans to coin it in with a Zep tour next year, much to the annoyance of Pagey who was all set to do it all again and raise a few bob for his Brazilian children charity.
Mind you, the rumour is the one-off the other night will be out on DVD very soon for all you poor bastards who never got a ticket invite.
Good old die hard Zep fans are calling Ms Krauss 'the Led Zep Yoko Ono' as Planty seems to want to tour with her instead of his old muckers.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Ahem.

The tour with Alison Krauss had been announced before the Zep date. All that remained was for the dates to be agreed. The World Tour starts happily and properly- in Birmingham.

The Zep? Planty has said all along that a tour would be very unlikely- he really doesn't think that they would get through it in one piece. And to be fair, he has opposed Zep world tours since 1977!- not 1980 or 2007.

Expect Zep to go down the Sabbath route- a few megagigs here and there. Three nights at the Garden has been so oft repeated that you can bet your house on it. Glastonbury has suddenly appeared today- an 'off-the-record' quote after Planty's press briefing for the Krauss tour.

I don't think that they have gone away again- but as a big, world touring band, they went away in 1977, not 1980.

Jason Bonham is contracted to Foriegner as well.

Seems Plant knows exactly what he's doing.

Raising Sand, the album he's made with Krauss, is very good indeed. Another string to his bow - why deny him that?
