Facebook

I've just set myself up on this out of curiosity more than anything but keep wondering what's the point for anyone over 30?? Views please!! Am i expected to babble on to people I text/see now and then or is to get in contact with those people I dropped out of contact with, presumably for good reason? Or some ruse whereby Facebook sell my details to some global advertiser in order to exploit me??

This and MySpace are basically aimed at youngsters. If you're over 21 there's no point.

From what I can see, Facebook is social networking based on keeping in touch with people you already know in life.....like work colleagues, family and old school friends, while myspace is about making friends with anyone who takes your fancy (quite literally as well).

So, if you want to chat to people you're already friends with, or catch up with old colleagues from a previous job/school, then get yourself a Facebook profile. If you want to meet new friends then get a Myspace profile.

I've never had neither -for the record- as I always look, and then can't be arsed in filling all the boring details in. I'd scare half of the people off; but as for the age thing: well I've seen lots of people, even over 30 that have profiles.

About nine months ago I set up a MySpace account, but I soon discovered that it wasn't what I was looking for, so I haven't logged into the account for about six months now. I'm not sure whether the account can be deleted?
