The amateur/producer for not using a standard format which at the very least says who he is generally and for not saying what the work was & how long it would last generally.hardly time consuming I would have thought

You can have more than one standard format
One place I worked for had a standard format for every conceivable situation...saved time while making you look professional even if you weren't
