Smokers..go on give it up !

Post by mrmcfister »

2008 ...go on do something worthwhile...
your clothes wont fucking stink (I know you can't smell it but they do)

you wont have to stand in tents outside of pubs

you'll save over ?200 a month if you smoke 20 a day

your risk of dying through lung cancer and heart disease will reduce (although some of the billiion dollar tobacco companies will argue over this one)

your work mates wont whinge behind your backs about how many smoke breaks you need

you won't have to go to late night garages to get your fix

many people of the opposite sex will immediately lose a reason not to ever shag yer..!
Good luck!

Alternatively, we could simply mind our own business.

We could also set out to reverse all legislation that impinges upon the freedom of choice of others.

I don't recall the freedom of choice of others being an issue when addicts could blow their smoke anywhere in an enclosed space; or them asking non-smokers if they minded.

But then I'm getting old and probably absent-minded.

Simple: I always made a point of reminding complaining non-smokers that they had the freedom of choice to either remain near to, or fuck off away from, my expensive smoke.

Yeah, because it was the right of the smoker to claim the room, wasn't it.

How silly of me.

A bit silly, yes.

The proprietor of an establishment always had the right to designate whether a room was "smoking" or "non-smoking".

That then gave everyone the opportunity to make a considered decision as to whether to enter that room or not.

I lost my mother to a smoking related disorder which took her dignity but not her pride. On Millennium Eve.

She didn't even smoke much.

I try not to preach on here- but if you only do one thing for you and your family this year, GIVE UP SMOKING. Please. Actresses as well as readers.

It'll be the best present you ever give them.

Sorry for preaching.

if more of them had made use of that, perhaps the legislation need not have been brought in.

Ah well, water under the bridge now.

A very good post there Colonel !thumbsup!

In the UK the majority of the adult population are now non-smokers - which is good.
