AN art gallery is under fire for exhibiting a statue showing Jesus Christ sexually aroused.

The figure is the centrepiece of 74 plaster models, ranging from Mickey Mouse to ET.

Controversial Chinese artist Terence Koh is exhibiting his work at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.


Angry John Monaghan, 33, of Newcastle, said: ?If other religious characters were portrayed like this there would be riots.?

Local Catholic priest Rev Christopher Warren branded it ?an affront to what we hold dear?.
