Great year for superhero films 2008 is going to be and I'm a big comic book fan.
This year we have The Dark Night sequal to batman begins, and I never saw Heath Leger as the joker but check out the new trailer.
http://www.atasteforthetheatrical.com/d ... efault.htm
Iron man starring Robert Downey as Iron Man/Tony Stark
http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/ironman/
and the Incredble Hulk starring Edward Norton as a remake with no stupid Ang Lee spoiling everything.
so good year I can't wait, I'm usually totally skited as the directors all seem to know what they are doing and being faithful to the source material but after Spiderman 3 being so bad and getting the characters wrong, even thought the 1st two were great I'm open minded,
however Marvel Films are producing Iron Man and The Hulk and they own the rights so doubt they would ruin there own characters, however they would not of had the money to do so if the 3 spiderman films hadnt made them so much.
So lets hope in a few years sony loses the rights and spiderman will get the marvel films treatment.
Only time will tell.

Oh no you are not Paul. I'm really looking forward to the new Batman flick. I like the look of the new ones since Tim Burtons reinvention of the first two.
I'm kind of dreading Iron Man but the Hulk looks interesting if they do it well. I really despised Ang Lees version.
Not a comic book hero but the new Indiana Jones comes to the big screen in just less than 5 months.

Judging from the trailer, it's difficult to gauge what sort of tone they're aiming for with Iron Man, which can be a bad sign at times. No idea about the others although they should do alright in what looks like a rather thin summer schedule - Indiana Jones, Prince Caspian & Wall-E being the three big cash cows apparently.
Speaking of such things, a nice one from the CHUD website: How much more interest can you lose in Cloverfield?
Indeed. Now watch JJ Abrams balls-up Star Trek.

Yes looking forward to Indiana Jones, I'd say I'm looking forward to Iron man the most actually, as its the first and he's always been Marvels Batman, in the sense that he's rich and uses his money to help other people, while dealing with his inner demons of drink and drugs. Oh and the fact his heart is rigged up to a device thats keeping him alive. Thats what Stan Lee did best, made Spider-man a kid who didnt ask to be a superhero, made Bruce Banner not be able to control himself,, made the x-men feared by the human race and Daredevil blind ( but the way watch the directors cut, so much better, more graphic and longer).
Batman Begins was a master stroke, and more like the orginal Comic, Tim Burton was ok, but they only think that was good about his films were, he was the first to make the character darker like the comics, but looking at his gothic list of films it was a typical choice. Christian Bale I think is a perfect Batman and Bruce Wayne. He brings something to Bruce that I compare to Christopher Reeeves Clark kent, he made the two character different.
While Reeve came up with the idea of making clark bumbling and different from Suoerman, Bale portrays Bruce as a rich show off dick, so none who guess he would give hos life to gothan as Batman, a thing I think he came up with himself too.
Ang Lees Hulk was ok, only because it was nice to see the Hulk do things that we see him do in the comics and it was nice to see him bigger than a man, which is why I dont think a man could ever play the Hulk.
However the plot was changed and, the fact that he got bigger and bigger the madder he got, I mean come one, everyone knows, he gets stronger and stronger the madder he gets, meaning we never really find the limit to the Hulks Strength.
With Rocky,Indy,Die Hard and now Rambo, all the old guys are out for on final round, why I think another lethal weapon will happen, it seems to be the thing to do lately....
see am I a geek or am I a geek.
