Help with photos on pc (my pictures)

I've done it again played on my computer and the thing has gone tits up.

Does anyone know how to retrieve photos / folders from my pictures please?

I created a folder to put some in but they were still visible on the outside (on the folder as well as in it)

I clicked something on the folder (right click) properties change icon thinking that would just give a new file.

Clicked on the blank folder pressed ok and now the old folder plus the new one and the photos have gone.

I've tried search and it doesn't find it and it appears to have been completely wiped.

This is possibly another for Jacques but if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

What software application are you using?

Try undelete (it's free)

If the files have names you should be able to do a search for them in < Start < Search < Filename. Do you have auto save on?

I've done the search Trumpy but can't find them that's what confusing me.

Are you using MS Office 2000 or some such?
