Havent bought a paper regularly for 5 years

I might buy one occasionally but ony to read reviews of live shows/music/films etc but to be honest you can get all that and more online and without the editorial slant of the owners

The only paper i read is the local messenger for local news and its free

So, are websites taking over our old rags? How will these media moguls get their money in the future? More ads on the websites?

What will the paperlads/lasses do for pocket money?

That seems to be the case. Sales of traditional paper newspapers are on a steep decline.

Speculate to accumulate I suppose.

More ads on the websites?

Yup, that's occurring now.

The 'lads' and 'lasses' don't want to do this type of work any longer. Our local newsagent is always advertising for 'paper delivery personal' - but can't get anyone. This means he, or sometimes his old Dad, have to go out and deliver them.

Btw, Good Evening Prof.

Evening, Trumpy.

When I was a lad I think I earnt about ?7.50 a week doing the papers. Sunday Mornings were the worst as the bag was the heaviest then, what with all the Sunday Suppliments; I had to get up about 4:30 as well.

I guess these days, if they get about ?10, it's fuck all. What can you get for a tenner these days?

My newsagent chappie did pay some of them up to 20 quid to deliver the papers - but still not enough to fill the vacancies.

A tenner doesn't go very far at all these days. I remember in my youth ten pounds was a small fortune - ahh, what memories.

It's awful that these kids don't get what they're worth. I wouldn't want a paper round if I was 14 either. I'd just pop round to Uncle Mike's.

No wonder ChrisD always looks fed-up.
