Had to post this- just how good can a band be in 2007?
Easily the best release of last year:
Tarantula
Re: Tarantula
You are behind the times Colonel, It's 2008 now, it sounds like a bit of a barny to me.

You have no taste, Leo!
Have you met Buck Mulligan recently? Or fucked Molly?

Re: Tarantula
Saw them headline Reading Festival summer just gone and they pulled in one hell of a performance.
They sound heavier than ever and this is the best line up in years though I never had a problem with any album they released with whatever line up it was, always been a huge fan of Machina and Zeitgeist is a great album.
I remember just before they played Death From Above (B side) on Tarantula, Billy Corgan said "this is a new song" and everyone booed and he just started laughing and said "this is for you............fuckers" was really good.
Can't see fans problem with the new album. Its not much different to Machina and that got quite good reception though he played nothing off that album other than Stand Inside Your Love but for me the best moment was the opening song "Superchrist". Just opure anger and heavy guitars which is why I think this is the best line up in agers and the bassist and keyboard player are sweet to look at.
Defo the best thing to come out of music last year for me though sadly Nine Inch Nails blew them off the stage at Reading though Pumpkins still played great, just not as good.
