awww thanks everyone! all the hugs and chocolates are much appreciated. its taking forever to type this coz im usually a 2 handed typer ha ha

Sam, the pain was just down the side of my little finger and down the side of my hand last night when it started. The joint was really swollen and as the night went on the pain spread to my ring finger and more into my hand. Gradual pain though (sprain injury kinda pain). Today it moved more to my wrist, forearm and also my middle finger. So ugly swollen very cold fingers at the mo ha ha

Geek never looked so good!

Hmmm, when you said it was in a sling, I was thinking you had a shoulder injury (carrying a heavy bag easily does it). A sling won't do much good for a wrist.

I think you've probably twisted your wrist while lifting the heavy bag and the swelling may be trapping a nerve which is why the pains moving around and your fingers feel cold.

Dr. Sam says to rest it (obviously!) and support your wrist with crate bandages (how boxers do it). It's too late for ice so keep it warm instead (ice is only useful within the first 20 mins of an injury, and 'No!' I don't mean Isabel Ice either !happy!)

You might get shooting pains up your forearm at night, but it's just the nerve -if indeed you have trapped it- so don't worry. 3-4 days without twisting and lifting should sort it.
