Oh I nearly forgot this one, a film called I.D. starring Warren Clarke and Reece Dinsdale about a group of policemen infiltrating a gang of football hooligans, it is a fantastic movie, if you've never seen it then check it out.

Pressburger & Powell's mesmerisingly odd A Canterbury Tale gets my vote, though I still roughly agree with Fran?ois Truffaut's statement that British Cinema is a contradiction in terms.

Fair do's Jack,but V did have British actors and set in London,so for me it's British !thumbsup!

On Football Factory.When i meant it being too chavvy i was on about the dialogue and the fight scenes and the film in general.

I used to know and drink with a few 'faces' in the Chelsea Headhunters(not mentioning any names),never would they carry a flare gun or let off CS gas cannisters in broad daylight and never would they fight where women and young children were present or at risk.

The Firm is by far the best Hooligan film.

Sorry Mike, by far the BEST hooligan film was ID......even has 'Gene Hunt' from Life on Mars as a little villain as well!

ID was a good film Ace,but i prefered The Firm even though it was based on West Ham !whistle!.the makers were forced to change the name of the firm from the ICF to the ICC,so it does'nt show to glorify the 'real life' violent reputation of the ICF.It's a game of opinion my fellow Blue.Ace wrote:

Have you been reading the great J.C's (Jeremy Clarkson) column in the Sunday Times. He was talking exactly about this subject. Except he added Layer Cake, Layer fucking cake with that crappy can't act-ress, Sienna Miller?!?! J.C get some glasses mate.

I too was a bit disapointed with Layer Cake.Good violence but a shit storyline. No way near the likes of Lock Stock,Sexybeast and The Long Good Friday when it comes to British Gangster Films.laralatex wrote:

Also Powell and Pressburger's "Peeping tom" takes some beating for being, well, brilliant. Nearly forgot their "Red shoes", now that was a bit freaky.
