Speaking of Mr Bennet, one of his films (he wrote the script) is on the television this week. The sublime "A private function".

Didn't Bennett attend a Grammer school in Leeds?

"Didn't Bennett attend a Grammer school in Leeds?"

I wouldn't be surprised. It's a common facet of luvies like Bennett and other middleclass socialists that they want to 'pull the ladder up' after themselves and deny others the same chance that they had. But of course they always see to it that their own kids go to a decent school - Tony Blair, Dianne Abbot and Ruth Kelly come to mind. I?m sure there are others. So, T? FUCK WIV? ?EM I SAY!

A private education (or an education at a Comprehensive in a very posh area) is the very best thing you could do for your kids. Everyone at the school will be motivated and expect the kids to do well and there will be no chavs, mongs, pikeys, divs and wasters there to disrupt lessons and generally bollox everything up.

Ungrateful snotty fuckers like Bennett deserve a thump in the windpipe.

So, a famous ex-Oxbridge type mouths off about inequality and unfair advantages.

Bit late for sixties satire, isn't it?

Abolishing fee-paying schools-NO

Giving them any funding from the Government,No as well

Governments dont subsidise private health so why should they do so for private education?

If the state system were funded properly resulting in the same class sizes/teacher to student ratios as the best then parents wouldn't be leaving

A friend of mine has been in the Australian state school system for 25 years
and the one thing that is a constant is the never ending cost cutting by the department of education.

If we really valued education(which we dont)it wouldn't be the case
