Yes magoo, brilliant pop songs and a totally underrated band. I too love 'Atomic' and 'Union City Blue', and likewise I feel the hair rise. Other Dibble favorites include 'Hangin' On The Telephone', 'In The Flesh', 'Picture This' and 'Rip Her to Shreds'. Also a less well know song ' X Offender' -

Yes magoo, a heart rending song of teenage angst - evoking feelings of intense loneliness and alienation, if not despair. One can empathise with Janis Ian's pain and the scenarios that were no doubt part of her time at high school - maybe sat alone in her bedroom while the popular pretty girls and their dates attended the school prom. All the more painful for one who is not an airhead. In fact it hardly bears thinking about.

I think she is brilliant, but Parallel Lines has been played to death to the point Sunday Girl drives me mad when I hear it.
I love Atomic and Union City Blues and that Rapture song with one of the first 'raps' put on vinyl before these bad ass nigga's knew what rap was. My favourite track is Call Me..........fucking excellent, and used in the opening titles of American Gigolo

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've seen Blondie live several times... however, I would say Debbie Harry is iconic rather than underrated....
