Six Nations

Post by Pervert »

At this early stage, and on the evidence of today's match, I reckon I know who will be winning the wooden spoon.

Well done, France. Scotland, you were pants. Well, that's what comes of going into the game as favourites.

Scotland will be Wooden Spoonists and you could see that before the tournament. They have imploded nationally, Celtically and internationally.

France-Wales will be the decider. Last match of the series as well!

Same old story indeed, Buttsie, old mate.

Where have you been hiding, by the way?

Yup, I think you're right Carac.

Although in all fairness the "try" Scotland conceded in the first half should have been disallowed for a forward pass. It wasn't spotted by the referee or touch judge. Also, they missed the Scottish player Henderson deliberately head-butting a French player after that "try" was scored. Even the TMO (Television Match Official) called it as a head-butt and still nothing was done. The matter has now been passed onto the citing commissioner for a ruling.

Right or wrong, that try was given. An injustice would have been enough to spur most teams on to do something, but Scotland just lost it.

Henderson should have been sent off, although a TV view from behind the Scots try line showed he was punched by a French player whiole trying to prevent the try. No excuses, though----the best team won.

It seems really daft to me that in Rugby the referee can call for an adjudication from the TMO as to whether a try has been scored, but he can not call it for foul play.

Re: Sendings off

He asked the video ref about the head butt, so he could call a penalty. The guy called it as a head butt, he gave the penalty---but didn't even book Henderson. Bloody weird decision.

On the subject of sendings off, I reckon rugby should change the rules. The loss of one man can change the whole game and make it a one-sided joke. Perhaps a fixed amount of substitutions could be permitted, with a sending off offence meaning an immediate substitution. If someone is then sent off after all the subs are used, then that's tough luck.

Worth thinking about for football too?
