Folks
I know our resident pc help is sadly departed but I was wondering if any other good people know where the exact link to download service pack 2 for windows xp can be found please?
I've just spent several hours downloading something (service pack 3 me thinks) but for what I am trying to do windows tells me I need service pact 2.
Every time I go to microsoft I get the message do you want the latest updates and then 'they' automatically start checking taking furkin ages to do it.
All I am after is the link that says click here to download service pack 2.
Don't want any other bollocks like the new version of outlook express they have now very kindly given me after over 2hours downloading.
I just want to log on to msn and check a mates profile. Used to be simple but now 'they' tell me I need an add on. When I click that link I get a nice box then a message saying the add on won't work because I need service pack 2.

You can download the full service pack here.
What I've done is streamline service pack 2 into the original XP disk. If you've got an XP disk from before sp2 came out, and a dvd writer, you can make another installation cd with sp2 automatically installed from the cd.
Find out how here.
That service pack is a decent size so depending on your isp service, it may take a few hours.

Sadly Monsieur Minky has departed, I think that perhaps Young Prof could step into his shoes and become our resident computer expert?
