colonel is right though about watching what we post on this subject. It may seem trivial and to some,PC,but i think colonel is just being cautious.

The Chelsea forum i post on reguarly nearly got shut down after various death threats and all sorts of rumours were posted regarding referee's,newspaper journalists and other public figures outside football.Reason why the Shannon thread on our OT section has already been locked.

Believe it or not, people like Police and newspaper PR's do read forums of any kind.

They perform the news reports to us in a patronising manner. Just look at how they whirl their arms about, clench their fists and punch it into their other open hand, join their fingers together in a pyramid and move it up and down at arms length, and I've now seen them standing on their tip toes whilst vigorously gesticulating to us. Add to all this the 'strain factor'. This is those who strain out every other syllable.

This is clear evidence of universal dumbing down of news reporting - all broadcasters are guilty. It's interesting to note that no politician, not to my knowledge anyway, has stood up and criticised this obvious diminution in public service broadcasting.

How did,and what manner did Sky News portray the news that Shannon was found?.

I'm a Virgin Media customer, and lost Sky News after Sky took it away from us after the Murdoch v Branston spat...long story !boring!

This is one of the problems with the legal system. Once someone is in custody, they are entitled to a fair trial. Prejudicial reporting such as in NOTW makes that slmost impossible, and can lead to a degree of speculation as to what happened.

One day, this kind of reporting will result in someone getting off of serious charges. It could have happened with Ian Huntley. Let's not let it happen here, eh?

Bin the speculation, please, chaps.

It can also compromise the case. Thanks to the tabloids,Steve Wright could of so easily been aquitted or been handed a lenient sentence for murdering those poor girls in Ipswich, because of who they were. The fact of the matter was that these women were human beings and had as much right to life as we do.

The press make me sick and i reckon they have far too much freedom these days !thumbsdown!

Top post Alice. These Newsreaders at ITN,BBC etc love sensationalism as it also up's their profile of moving on to other news wires like Sky.

You can actually tell which one's are reading seriously and those that are there only to look glamourous.Alice In Blunderland wrote:
