Back in 2001 / 2002, I was seeing a woman whose brother had actually met Mills on a number of occasions through being a mate of a bloke she'd dated for a while.

And I can hear him now saying (in response to the news that Mills & Macca were to wed) "I'll give it a couple of years, then she'll fuck off and take him to the cleaners".

When I asked him the reason for such cynicism, he replied that she'd always been very open about her goals in life being to (a) net herself a multi-millionnaire and (b) become a household name. He also said that she came across as being hard as nails and was thoroughly dislikeable.

Only heresay I know and obviously it wouldn't "stand up in court", so to speak. But what he said back then does appear to have been confirmed by what's happened.
