As my paypal account has been suspended i posted off two lots of invoices and a cheque put 1st class stamps on each posted monday but no arrival yet i wondered if that was ok?
Re: Posting Stuff
Steve as I have told you before m8, always when sending cheques, money or anything important send it recorded delivery only costs an extra 70p. That way you can be sure whether they turn up as you can track them on the post office site. Give it until Tuesday as it is a bank holiday and if nothing has turned up by then get the bank to cancel your cheque.
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?
Re: Posting Stuff
If I ever send any monies through the post I always use Special Delivery. It costs ?5 per item - but it's safe and guaranteed to arrive. Always make sure you tick the box marked ?1000 compensation for failure to arrive.
Re: Posting Stuff
I send a lot of post by Special Delivery, costs more but it gives peace of mind when posting items that have to be delivered quickly & safely.
Often wondered about the compensation figures, if an item was not delivered how would you/they prove the value of the item posted?, I'm sure that RM would not pay out ?1000/?2500 without some proof of value.

Re: Posting Stuff
You have to provide the RM with proof of value on the form that comes with the Special Delivery sticker etc. You write the value of the goods being sent in the appropriate box and when you hand it to the PO cashier they will confirm that the value you have written is correct then stamp it.
Re: Posting Stuff
Without opening the package to check the contents how would the clerk know that what I am telling them is true, I could stuff the envelope with paper & claim that it contained ?1000 in notes, how would anyone prove otherwise?

Re: Posting Stuff
I am sure compensation does NOT cover lost cash in the post, and nor should it.

Re: Posting Stuff
Hi Ace,
Yes I realise that using cash as an example was a no go but I have to say that I have posted hundreds of packages using Secure Delivery & never once have I been asked about the contents so I ask again "how would they prove/disprove the value of the lost item"
I realise that the chances of anything going missing using SD are remote & should a fraudulent claim be made & then the item turn up all hell would break loose
