England and particularly London where I used to live is the most spied on society in the world. I always wore a hood in winter because it was cold but in Summer because I resented Big Brother watching me all the time! Surveillance is a breach of civil liberty and our right to privacy. Everyone should wear a hood in protest.

If you are not committing a crime, or about to commit a violent street crime, I see no reason to wear a hoodie.

As a bike rider I get to throw shop staff and security into a mad panic everytime I walk into a shop with helmit still on !!
I somtimes do it for fun to see how long it takes for a security guard to ask me to remove it.
Amazing that they dont ask a chav to remove the hood though

I wear hooded sweatshirts all the time. They're really warm and the hood acts as a scarf or if need be keeps your head warm.
I also have a hood on my raincoat cause the one on my hoodie is pretty useless when it rains.
Banning them is just so ridiculous, shouldn't even have to explain why.

How can you ban hoodies? It's stupidity. Without even mentioning the rights of the individual in a public place, what of parkas and any other coat with a hood?
I can understand, say, a bank, shop or restaurant banning them on the premises as they're not public spaces, but outside the private realm, no way.
For one thing, it's discriminatory.

our freedoms are being removed with each passing week by the looks of it. Banning someone from wearing a hooded top is plain ridiculous. What next, hats?
