Neutrals supporting Liverpool? Not many I know of!

As a neutral -since the Owls are struggling in the Championship-, out of the Premiership clubs, I like watching Man Utd and Arsenal.

Liverpool and Chelsea bore me.

Tottenham are exciting to watch, but I bet it's a nightmare being a fan, the way such a talented team leak goals.

How can you say that Man.Utd are hated by the media? The media (especially the BBC) cream their knickers over Man.Utd and make no bones about who they want to win. Their constant references to them as 'United' bear this out. No one I know ever refers to Man Utd as just 'United'. The media are shit scared of Alex Ferguson and the FA let him get away with saying anything he likes. His criticism of the referee after the Portsmouth cup tie was an absolute disgrace and he appears to have escaped scot free (pun intended) from any punishment or censure. I can only think this media love-in with Man Utd is because they are the biggest club in London, with the biggest set of spoilt bastard fans (lots of whom work in the media) supporting them. Perhaps it's because they are the biggest club in London that they are constantly referred to as United by the southern media, cos they've got fuck all to do with Manchester anymore.
As for their spoilt bastard fans, every spoilt bastard from every classroom in the UK, went on to become a Man Utd 'fan'. You know the type - the ones who couldn't play football but had the best boots, the ones who were picked last, the ones who tried to take the piss when your local team lost and 'United' won and the only way to shut them up was to give them a slap.
I personally hope that Liverpool stuff Chelsea, and Barcelona stuff Man Utd and Liverpool go on to win the cup.

Liverpool's fall from dominance started when the back-pass rule was introduced! !laugh!

He's right to a certain extent as down here in the South West most football fans that support other clubs than "united" just get fed up with it all.

I don't like making stereotypes but his about the "united" fans that live down our way isn't far off the mark.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Liverpool, as well as every other premiership club these days, spend as much time in China, the US and the Middle East, during pre season as they can.

Once Sky TV came along, with weekly live games, it was obvious more kids were going to grow up watching the big teams on TV more than their own local team. Football is global now, especially the EPL. We just have to live with it.

What gets me with Liverpool fans -and not just them- is they knock Man Utd for having a far reaching fanbase, yet don't criticise their own club for going on lucrative, pre-season tours across the globe.

As a Liverpool fan, could your average guy afford to go watch pre-season in Malaysia?

For the record, I've met more Man Utd fans in Manchester than City fans; i've also met plenty of Liverpool fans in London & Brighton.
