I am 58 and still in good health (I believe). But many people I have known died at a younger age. I am older now than both my father-in-law and my mother-in-law were when they died. In 1970 one of my best friends died of stomach cancer. He was 19.
But there is a big chance Bob and you and I will live to be at least 70, for we live in Europe. The mean life expectancy in Zimbabwe is 36 years.

Pneumonia is often used on a death certificate when they cannot decide what the actual cause of death was !sad!

My former boss became ill with this when he was 57. He was hospitalised for a number of months and eventually recovered.

You are more prone to catch pneumonia, if you have impaired kidneys, diabetes, no spleen, heavy smoker, asthma and so on. Also if your immune system is low. You can also contract it by breathing in elements of your own vomit, as you throw up........so BE CAREFUL!
