Re: Chelsea barrister
If Prince Charles got a gun and started shooting it out the window at innocent passers by then he would be shot. This bloke was having an emotional crisis and acting irrationally.Sad but relationships go bad...theres a couple of little boys lying in a Chapel of Rest in Scotland thats another perfect example at how people flip sometimes.

Re: Chelsea barrister
He simply had to be gunned down. With no hostages in the house,i'm surprised it took the O.B so long. And all the rush hour disruption the basket case caused too.

Reckon he had a rail with his wife then just snapped went berserk!
Re: Chelsea barrister
It's hard to say much about this because we don't know the facts. But if he did not have a hostage that is one pressure that was not on the police. If, as has been reported, he had a shotgun, that has a lethal radius of only about a hundred yards, so it would have been possible to cordon off and evacuate the immediate area. It may have been that he would have killed himself anyway, we will never know, but although he had a gun and was shooting I have to wonder how much danger he posed, given that he was confined to a flat, did not have a hostage, and had a weapon with a limited range.
Re: Chelsea barrister
Did the Police know he only had the one gun?
Did they know he didn't have anyone else in the flat with him?
Did they know that he had no intention of trying to make any escape from that flat?
Did they know that there was no chance of him getting out the flat and have him running along the street or through back gardens with loaded guns firing at will at anything that moved.
etc, etc, etc...............
Of course when you think about it he didn't pose any danger to anyone but himself ! (NOT)
