While I think it's a bit daft and immature to label any blokes who enjoy this show as "gay", I do think that it's a complete pile of pants.

Not quite as skin-crawlingly bad as that desperately un-funny pile of horse droppings "Friends" (one of the most over-rated shows of all time, IMHO) - but not far off.

Over rated it may well be but it was was watched and followed by the masses which is why it lasted for a good ten years.

I just wished I produced that pile of pants. Not only would I be laughing my arse off to the bank but I might have had a chance with Jennifer Aniston.

Again with Friends, i once thought as you do until a friend got me recording it every Friday night because he worked and watched it on Sunday when he came round. The first thing I liked about the show? Every week Jennifer Anistons nipples would be poking out of her top. I found that immensely sexy..and I managed to have a bit of a giggle too.

I've always found friends to be on such an obvious level it was verging on the ridiculous. All so NICE and niceto me is Boring

Its almost the equivalent of canned laughter

Give me the Dysfuntional American family/singles sitcom anyday over Friends

Everybody loves Raymond,Seinfeld,Married with Children

Grounded for Life http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0255734/

anyday over the Blandness represented by friends

each to their own i guess

Mediocrity sells!

Just look at the pop music market.

And look too at all the "reality" TV shit that the masses have been eagerly lapping up for the past 10 years or so - despite the fact that all these shows are carefully stage-managed and are thus in fact about as far from "reality" as you can get (although much of the viewership is - it would seem - too thick to realise that).

It does indeed. But if you can stomach it, try watching an episode and ask why it is so popular! it got to the point I heard some of those stars were getting a $500,000 an episode!

I can give you a multitude of reasons why it became so popular and like anyhting that is popular there are people that will trash it because they simply hate it.

You maybe one in millions but its the other millions or so that put this show in the global phenomenon category where it is and stil is popular years after they finished making them.

I still think Jennifer Anistons nipples were the biggest hook to the show though...wel for me anyway. No thats not true. i did like the show as well. it was a nice, simple and amusing way to end a working week. Light entertainment.
