He makes that Eurovision show.
Indeed he ought to talk during the songs as well, then viewers could be given the choice, via the red button, of listening to him commenting upon the musical blasphemies taking place or just listening to the dreadful aural crimes being perpetrated on stage.

Listening to Radio 4 news this morning, looks like he's pulling out due to the politicisation of theSong Contest.
Interesting how countries which couldn't wait to be free of Russian influence and are "happy" to be in NATO vote for Russia - must be the triumph of ethnicity over politics.

Not that I watched said contest last night you understand (ahem), but Sir Terry was getting quite strongly anti-Eastern Europe in his commentary...
His view was that the show would be in the hands of the Old Eastern Bloc countries for years to come and that the tide has changed, with politics now rife (hasn't it always been like that?). He said on that night that he now needs to make a decision on whether to front the UK show again.
From a personal perspective, I discovered that if you got very stoned, turned the volume off and put on music of your own choosing, it was a very entertaining evening.
Some cracking dancer ass.

I loved the show.Mainly for Wogan's super cynical commentary.Up until the arrival of the Eastern Bloc a few years ago the contest was always very open.Any country with a good enough song could win it.Now it's all down to politics which is a great shame.The songs are irrelevant although if you want a laugh watch it on interactive with the translations because the lyrics were for the most part excruciatingly funny/bizarre.
A few years ago Wogan made the point that the countries which pump the most money into Eurovision(UK,France,Spain,Germany,Italy I think)now consistently get the lowest points.Perhaps the Eastern Bloc should take the bulk of the financial responsibilty particularly as the contest is almost exclusively held in Eastern Europe these days.
