Say "Goodnight Dick"
Dick Martin RIP
Re: Dick Martin RIP
I can remember watching Rowan and Martin's Laugh In many years ago.
It really took the country by storm.
I really liked Dick Martin, he had a zany sense of humour.

For those to young to have seen this, here is a brief rundown on Rowan and Martin's Laugh In.
It was a US TV show featuring two hosts - Dan Rowan and Dick Martin.
It featured loads of zany characters, tons of silly one-liner jokes, lots of catchphrases, lots of famous guests (John Wayne for example), and lots of ad-libs and the stars trying to make each other laugh.
It was a bit like the fast show but with a double act (Rowan and Martin) hosting it.
Here are some clips to give you an idea of the flavour of the show. They always ended the show with people sticking there head through these little doors and delivering silly jokes.

Re: Dick Martin RIP
Rather odd his death, because for some reason I was thinking of Laugh-In throughout the weekend with no reason. I have rarely thought of the show for years.
Anyway, I certainly remember it from my childhood. While not a fan of American comedy generally, I think their stuff was clever for its day. Laugh-In was far preferable to the endless "Mother Fuckin"s chants from today's posing, pretentious 'comedians'.
Goldie Hawn got her break on Laugh-In I think.

Re: Dick Martin RIP
Rowan and Martins 'laugh in' was way ahead of its time, the format was superb, and launched many young actors/actresses careers, namely Goldie Hawn.
Its a pity its not every repeated on tv, im sure it will still stand the test of time.
R.I.P Dick
