What off-side goal?

The assistant was perfectly right to keep his flag down as the laws of the game state that a defender who has gone off the pitch without the ref's permission is still active.

Was reading this am that Keith Hackett thought Ruud's goal was legitimate because Panucci, who had slid off the pitch, would still be considered active. Bit harsh !

Now that was a game !thumbsup!

Holland look very very good, some great goals and made up for the borefest that was France v Romania!thumbsdown!

Thought you were smart when you took them on,
But you didnt take a peep in their artillery room,
All that rugby puts hairs on your chest,
What chance have you got against a tie and a crest.

Truly bizarre incident given that his own Keeper sent him sprawling off the pitch

The reactions from those calling for off-side just prove they dont know the laws of the game

I doubt we'd be discussing this trivial matter if the Italians had taken their numerous chances in front of goal and not defended like a schoolboy outfit

Seems without Nesta,Cannavaro & Maldini in defence their quite ordinary
Perfectly emphasised by the last goal

Still sets up a cracking game for Holland v France

Still recovering. As my other half is Dutch, there was a lot of noise in our house. The second goal was pure football, the kind that makes you want to weep with joy. Ahem.

Not sure about it being England in this group as if you do your homework Alice you will find it COULD have been Scotland ... of course us laddies would have leathered the Dutch on that sort of form!!

Don't know about you, Crofter, but I'm already bricking it about the World Cup qualifiers.

Well after being drawn against two of the best teams in the world (plus add in the not too shabby Ukranians at least on a par with Russia) for this campaign I wouldn't say I am "bricking it" but the signs don't look great!!
Hopefully Holland will be hit with some mass suicide pact only affecting football players shortly before those games come around ...
