Wow looks like "Big Phil" has decided to cash in his chips - only emerged today that he was leaving the Portugese National job because of "changes" in the structure {alarm bells start ringing}, seems like a total lack of respect to the Portugese especially after clinching a quarter final place today.
I will be honest and say I hope he falls very flat on his face with Chelsea as that is not the way to conduct yourself whilst in the middle of a major tournament ... typical CFC though.

True.I was spoiled for choice which one to post on,so i opted for the thread pf my fellow Bluenose(Bob).

Well said. Another way to look at it is Chelsea have three league matches, a European final and the FA Cup final to play and Inter Milan, for example, announce the Chelsea boss will be their manager once the season is over. How would you react to that??
I loved the hypcocrisy of Chelsea last night: announcing Scolari as manager, and saying no futher announcement would be made until after Euro 2008 to minimise any problems for Portugal.
By the way, I know Sir Bobby Robson is a sacred cow in football, but I lost all respect for him when he went out to Spain in 1982 and was in talks to replace Ron Greenwood as England boss while the World Cup was going on. That was not exactly respectful behaviour.

Oh do fuck off.For your information,Chelsea were given permission by the Portuguese FA to make the announcement PROVIDING Portugal beat the Czech's and qualified for the quarter finals of Euro 2008.
Chelsea FC have also stressed that they will no longer discuss Scolari's appointment with any form of media until Portugal's interest in Euro 2008 has ended or after Portugal win Euro 2008 (hopefully).
Chelsea also pleaded with the media not to discuss the appointent with Scolari when he's doing his news conferences ahead and after Portugal's remaining games in Euro 2008.This is out of respect for the Portuguese FA and the Players and staff of the Portuguese National team.
It's in black and white on the Chelsea website.I suggest you read it(that's if you can read),and i also suggest that you get your facts right before going all anti-Chelsea.
