They have to keep the bandwagon rolling and give each other honours, because nobody else gives a jott what the tossers do. The sooner we become a republic the better.

I've about the republic idea over the years and would be the first to admit I love the sound of and the idea's of a republic, but and this is a big but.. what do you end up with.. George 'Dubbya' Bush, or even 'Bamby' Blair?
I think the way forward would be to just tell the German's, sorry, The Windsor's to vacate the various places they squat in, tell them they're no longer needed as the head of the country but they can stay if they all go out and get proper jobs.

Re: Get Knighted!
For a long time now the monarch's birthday has been celebrated in summer, irrespective of the actual date of the birth. This is known as the King's/Queen's Official Birthday. Since the early nineteenth century the Official Birthday has been marked by the Trooping The Colour ceremony which is always held on the second Saturday in June. Trooping the Colour is an ancient ceremony to remind soldiers of their Colour (or flag) so that in the heat of battle they would know where to find their rallying point etc.
