New 'Coldplay' album...

Got the album two days ago and only got to track 4. All I can say at the moment is that The Killers & Muse are better.

All Coldplay albums are by definition, a load of wank by a load of Radiohead wannabees.

Of course, the best bands have imitators so good that they carry on where the original band leave off and become famous in their own right- Radiohead/Coldplay; Portishead/Moloko; Beatles/ELO; Stones/Primal Scream; Zeppelin/Whitesnake; Genesis/Marillion.

So Thom and co should take the compliment as intended.

Stones was Aerosmith wasn't it .. at the time. Primal Scream are shape shifters so for a time it was the Stones .. equally it was MC5 and just about every band you care to mention. That's how promiscuous they are. They got Drakoulias to do 'Give Out But Don't Give Up' when Drakoulias was hot off the back of Black Crowes ... since then they'll ponce of anyone. They've had some great moments but they're redundant now.

Bland, samey mediocrity.

And the constant fawning and gushing that this band attracts has a distinct aroma of "the Emperor's new clothes" about it.
