We'd have come bottom - probably with two lost and a draw. Just as well we never qualified, because we'd be out tonight in any case :)

I know England have played awfully for a long time now, but in discussing England, aren't we doing Croatia and Russia a disservice?

Croatia looked more comfortable against Germany than England, and Russia swept aside Sweden without much effort. I think, while not an excuse for England missing out, these two teams are better than we've given them credit for.

I'd also point out that of the quarter finalist, only Russia and Croatia are from the same quilifying group, namely Enland's.

World Cup Seedings:- a mockery

Post by leobloom »

I fail to see the logic that Greece, who have qualified for the last two euros(and won euro 2004), are top Seeds for qualification for the World Cup.

Greece last qualified in 1994, the last tournament prior to this years Euros that the English have failed to make. It seems a bit ludicrious to me that in the last two World Cups, England have reached the quarter finals, and Greece who haven't been at the last three World Cups get an easier group.

The FIFA seedings and rankings are a total mockery. But the ranking points is based on matches played across a certain amount of years, this, oddly enough includes friendly matches.

In 2006,before the world cup in Germany, the world rankings(top 5) was like this i think.

1:Brazil
2:Spain
3:Argentina
4 Mexico
5:USA

15:England?

South/Central America play more friendly matches than any other nation, thus getting more ranking points.

Personally,i ignore the FIFA rankings as they really don't mean a thing.

I can't stand footy (I used to support liverpool cos they always won, so it was a no brainer, lol)

But surely the fact they didnt make it in... means they would have got no where?

The only difference between erotic art and porn is how much you can charge for it... 3.99 a mag its porn; 399 a print, its art!

If you hang it on a wall... would the Rev. faint or comment on it; if the former its Porn :-P
