American scientists have found that people who admitted to having had oral sex with more than six partners had a nine times greater risk of oropharyngeal cancer.A virus called HPV-16 was found in the throat tumours of people assessed in the study, conducted at Johns Hopkins University. Other risk factors for throat cancer are smoking and excessive alcohol. Talk about kill joys.
