Too right. Picked them from the beginning. I think this must be the first prediction I've ever got right.....at least sportswise.

The best team won.Spain were good all the way through and they beat the Germans. How good is that!footie!

Thought you were smart when you took them on,
But you didnt take a peep in their artillery room,
All that rugby puts hairs on your chest,
What chance have you got against a tie and a crest.

Hard to believe but well deserved.

Could easily have been an absolute hammering

You knew the Germans were in trouble when Podolski tried to get Silva sent off.Glad to see the Ref & his assistants didn't fall for the 3 card trick
as they usually do

Disagree on the Podolski incident. Ref got that and a couple of other things wrong.

Spain were deserved winners. Lehmann clearly past it. His rusing out contributed to Lahm dithering and not ushering Torres out wide. Looks like Mr Wenger got it right again.

A German contact of mine says Podolski could be heading to Arsenal or Man c...

Players dont headbutt unless their provoked in my experience.Doesn't make it right but both players are equally to blame. If Podoloski wast within a centremetre of silvas face tthere wouldn't have been any contact

Everytime I see these incidents its almost invariably instigated from the team running 2nd at the time

Gamesmenship....the main reason football is seen as soft

You want to outlaw such behaviour you video review each match after and you hand out stiff penalties so no one is even tempted to try provoking or reacting

The Podolski incident was pure gamesmanship.Silva did well not to react.Typical of the Germans to spit the dummy out when it's not going right for them.

Fantastic result for football - could / should have been 2-0 or 3-0 but I'll take any sort of Spanish win.

Sublime finish by Torres, worthy of winning any final - even my Mrs was impressed by it and she's not usually into football (though the fact that she thinks Torres is "a babe" might have something to do with it, LOL).

Spain have been fantastic all tournament and richly deserve the title. By far the worthiest champions since Holland in '88.

Exactly. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. But Podolski was clearly rattled and frustrated because he'd pretty much been an anonymous spectator all night.

I've often wondered why they don't something along those lines. It would be a very sensible way of eliminating (or at least curtailing) such antics.

Mind you, FIFA haven't always been famous for using their brains.
