I don't think people send postcards anymore - they were killed off by phones and the internet. They still sell the touristy ones, although more for nerdy types and women to collect rather than to post.

I still have a small pile of them somewhere that I bought on holidays in Cornwall as a teenager in the late '70s and very early '80s.
Most of them are the classic "mucky" type featuring cartoon blondes with big knockers spilling out everywhere (today's "wimmin" wouldn't approve), a couple are borderline racist (funny to a 15 year-old in 1978 I'm ashamed to say, but not so much now) and several feature the antics of a perpetually drunken bloke, which nowadays would probably have the Health Fascists up in arms about "promoting and glamourising excessive alcohol consumption" or some such bollocks.
