I thought it was ok, Heath Ledger did an amazing Joker! You'll likt the magic trick he does with a pencil !grin!

Cracking film, probably the best of the year so far.

However, I do have a reservation. I found the first half slow and I think it is because it concentrated on a subplot that didn't really matter (the mob accountant). The parallel with post-911 New York is obvious but I don't know if Chris Nolan failed, or chose not to emulate it. I kept thinking about the first half of Die Hard 3 and that this film should've been like that - a city under siege from an unpredictable terrorist descends into confusion, chaos and hysteria.

But once the film gets going, I was completely blown away.

I'd watch it on the TV, but probably lose interest half way through. I've never managed a full Batman movie in the past - although this one looks a little better than usual, although that may be down to the excessive hype they surround things with these days. I'll check it out in 6 months or so when it comes on satellite.

I don't know what people see in the cinema experience, I'd much rather watch it at home on the TV. Good job everyone's not like me or they'd have to close cinemas down - I remember going sometime in the 80's, before videos were available

Some films where meant to be seen on the big screen, Thing is todays generation dont mind watching it on their pc and ipods.

I think a lo tof those people miss out on the full excitement a film brings on the big screen with a big screen audience.

Some of the biggest movies I saw like Die Hard (on the largest deep curve screen in europe at the time) Star Wars, Terminator 2 (press show) had a reaction like being at Wembley.

Thing is those films made an indelible impression on me thathas seldom been surpassed but for a good few movies. The Matrix 1 & 2.

What would be the point of watching something like Lawrence of Arabia on an Ipod ? What would be the point of seeing a painting like Picasso's Guernica reduced to the size of a stamp ?

Hey Jonone..I saw the restored print of Lawrence Of Arabia too.

That was such a great film to see in 70mm. David Lean even paid to have the screen changed for that film (20k at the time) that was the last of the deep curve screen. Die Hard was the last film on that one.

I love the scene where Omar Sharif rides through the shimmering heat...Thats the power of the big screen for you.

Did you know that movie was shot on 65mm vistavision??? That kind of thing was unheard of until Spielberg shot ET on it too I believe. Not many films were shot that way.

Finally got round to seeing it, i have to say the film is amazing probably the best comic to flim ever done. I didn't think that batma begins could be bettered but i was wrong. The late Heath ledger performance as the joker was simply breath taking, scary, but yet very funny at the same time. It had a good plot and enough twists and turns to keep us all guessing. The rest of actors in movie were simply brilliant, i have to see this movie again. Roll on the third movie hopefully.
