Yet again a Flymo lawn mower lets me down in its second year. These things cost about 90 quid and arent used 5 months of the year.If I take it back to B and Q they say 'They're only guaranteed for 12 months'
...it would cost 90 quid to get repaired so I dont fucking bother...its a fucking disgrace .and Black and Decker are just as crap...bollocks..shit fuck wank..off to buy another after this fucker gushed out white smoke and died...

Did you shoot it?
Re: Fucking crap Flymo mowers
I sense you are pissed off at having to do your job properly in order to earn money to pay for something made by people who get paid to make shit.
Software is my biggest piss-off. A bottle of Scotch and a good porn DVD is much better value than many 'serious' products of the same price.

Re: Fucking crap Flymo mowers
I used to run a garden machinery sales and servicing shop... people used to baulk at paying ?100+ for a mower (when Flymo's were about ?30 in those days), yet those ?100+ mowers were still going strong 7/8 years later while the idiots who shop at B&Q, Homebase etc were paying out for new mowers every couple of years. The problem was, they never learnt the golden rules...
Never buy a Flymo
Never by a Black & Decker
Never buy from Argos
Never buy from B&Q
Never buy from Homebase
Find an independent garden machinery dealership near you and get a machine that suits the size of garden you have (most people buy machines that are underpowered for the size of garden they have).
Here's a rough guide:
Up to half a tennis court in size - electric with minimum 1000w induction motor. Anything less and it will burn out. Avoid ultra cheap electric machines. If it costs less than a toaster do you really think it's up to the job?
Up to a tennis court in size - petrol rotary with 16"-18" cutting width. Avoid "makes" like Sovereign etc. as Sovereign is a badge used by, I think Homebase, to market cheap machines from various manufacturers. You may be able to get spares the same year you bought it, but next year you'll have difficulty getting parts, especially the cutter bar if it ever needs replacing.
Up to 2 tennis courts in size - self propelled 19"-22" rotary. Go for a decent make like Hayter.
Bigger than that and you're into ride-on mower territory... MTD are solid as are Westwood and Hayter.

When I was at school one boy's dad cut his big toe off with a Flymo. The moral of the story is don't mow the lawn in sandals I suppose. Because we were kids we thought it was hilarious of course. Cruel bastards, kids.

I've got a Qualcast and that's shite too - great as long as you don't expect it to cut the grass, it skims over the surface really nicely. Lots of thanks to the wankers at Qualcast for designing such a useless piece of shit
Re: Fucking crap Flymo mowers
I had a Flymo mower & a lawnraker, both f***ing motors burned out in very short time, bastards.
