"The BBC has been fined ?400,000 by Ofcom for faking competition winners and deceiving viewers on a string of radio and television programmes. Ofcom found that viewers were duped by production staff who made up the names of winners or even posed as contestants themselves, and the BBC persistently encouraged people to enter competitions even though they had no chance of winning. In March last year a member of the production team posed as a winner on a phone-in competition on Comic Relief on BBC1, and a similar scenario happened on a Sport Relief phone-in in July 2006. On Children in Need, in 2005, the winner was invented and the name of the fictitious winner was then read out on air. The BBC Trust said that they regretted the fine from Ofcom and the loss of licence payers' money".
Hmmm.... so we the people are cheated by the BBC and when they are caught they then use our money to pay the fine.

Re: Who pays for the BBC's wrongs?
They'll probably have a series of phone votes along the lines of;
"Do you think the fine is excessive?
Call 0898 976908 for yes
0898 969898 for no"
To raise the money.

Fucking wasters..eg on Radio 5 Breakfast show..one reads the traffic,one reads the sport,one reads the weather..over on Radio 4 another does the sport,another the weather,..Helen Blaby Radio 5 Traffic comes in every 30 mins with great lines like...'one lane of M6 closed by a broken down lorry Junction 26 North Bound' and then minces out for another half hour...and execs are well known for organising meeting around lunch time cos they can order in the caterers....
Re: Who pays for the BBC's wrongs?
There needs to be a massive protest by the licence payers'. They could all stop buying, or renewing their TV licences. I, for one, am a refusenik and I'm telling the BBC to shove the TV licence right up their voluminous arse-hole. !furious!

The worst voice on radio comes from Harriet Cass:
The bitch has a 1950's style comedy voice, talks like she's got a mouth full of plums and a broom stuck up her arse
