It has struck me very recently that if you dont happen to hold liberal views or be a card carrying communist, you get short change on this forum. Why is it so fucking bad to have Conservative views, I am no rabid tory, i fucking loathed the Thatch, but I fucking hate extreme liberalism as well, I,m defining liberal as seeing no harm in anything, I will never vote for the Labour party..ever again, they have some good ideas, but are shite at managing the economy-always have been. I may just never vote again full stop, but I will definitly vote for the Tory party this time round, anyone else prepared to admit that?.....

I fully agree with you Liz. Like all liberals, they love to flaunt it...'My liberalism is bigger than yours' 'My dad's more liberal than yours'. They're just like schoolkids pissing up a wall to see who can piss the highest - 'I'm considerably more liberal than yow' (to paraphrase Harry Enfield). I'm no Tory and I've never voted for them in my life, but this fucking Labour party is beyond belief - it's full of the aforementioned liberals, who have joined just to get a sniff of power. What the fuck is Milliband, Balls and Harperson doing in the fucking Labour party? How can they possibly identify with, let alone represent the working class? They have not got our interests at heart and have no concept of what day to day life in modern Britain is all about. Vote the fuckers out and never vote the cunts back in again. Ever.

Most of the population, I suspect, are conservative by nature; I think socialism can work, and I am a liberal. On rare occasions I can be nationalistic, and when some horrible crime has been committed my inner nazi tends to get mouthy.

The trouble is when we capitalise any of those ideologies. Labour don't speak for all of us, but neither do the Tories, the Lib Dems, BNP, Plaid Cymru or any of the others. In our democracy, we tend to vote for the one we think is closest to our views, or one that has a strong view on a particular issue. But whoever gets our vote, they'll see it as a mandate for all the nasty, odious policies that we don't agree with.

Incidentally, how liberal is too liberal? Is it allowing terrorists the same freedoms as us? Decriminalising drugs? Having my face injected with rubber before getting involved with a Romanian songstress and banging on about meteorites??????????
