I was reading, of all things, Patrick Mower's autobiography and he tells of much loved Boon star Elphick. Booze killed him, of course- and what I didn't know was that the reason Neil Morrissey- meant to be just a support role- got big and bigger in the script and the credits was that Elphick couldn't work after 1pm- he was too drunk to stand up.

Yes, and did you know for his motorcycle riding in Boon, he had to take a breath test before they let him get on the bike?
