xbox ring of death ????

Hey

Can't offer you any advice on the Xbox i'm afraid. But not only has my internet packed the fuck up tonight,the disk drive on my (four fucking month old) PS3 has just gone for a fucking Burton!!

Just done some searching on a few forums and the say that only 4% of PS3s have suffered any problems,compared to around 30% of X boxes. Still early days really for the PS3.

Think both companys stand fucking for releasing sub standard products. I mean even car manafacturers have a better succes rate than that.

Any way dude best of luck. I have the joy of dealing with Sonys after sales service to look forward to tomorrow. keep 'em peeled. There is almost certainly going to be a thread about that......

Is the xbox 360 suffering from the 3 rings of death and under 3 years old and is the seal is intact

if so you might be able to get it repaired by microsoft for free .
they extended the warranty to 3 years for the 3rod on the xbox 360 in some countrys

Dont do it!! as dean said you have 3 yrs warranty and all you need to do is contact microsoft, they then arrange to pick it up and 2 weeks later a repaired xbox arrives at your door!

I got the ring of death twice now on 2 new x box,s sent out microsoft. The newest one just arrived

contact them and they will arrange pick up and repair or new one and send it straight out

good service but fuck me why did they not just fix the fucking problem from the start!!!

Call Microsoft, you`ll be emailed a label and told to call UPS. UPS`ll collect it or you can take it to a depot. You`ll have it back withint two weeks as good as new with a free month for xbox live. Warranty is 18 months

the 360 was rushed, inadequate testing, parts etc all to beat the ps3 onto shelves. hense the failure rate.

microsoft had to get their new console out before sony, to try and get a 'biga user base' as possible and i think it worked but at what cost?
will any of us, who bought a 360, buy 'ms' next console?

also, with the wii out selling the 2 other consoles on it's own and with a failure rate of just 1% adds to the shambles of the 360

I've just got my xbox 360 back from microsoft on thursday after the red ring of death, this is the second time its happened to my console.
Apparently it was my motherboard that was fucked.

All credit to Microsoft, it took 10 days in total to send it away and get it back after being fixed and they included a 1 month membership to xbox live as well, great service but then with so many breaking down I think they've got this repairing down to a fine art.

I've never had any console breakdown on me before but now the xbox360 has broken twice, everything else has been flawless.
