Ha ha ha..Funny thread.

Stupidity and ignorance is global. The bigger the country the more likely a bigger percentage of those who are ignorant.

America has a lot of very smart people too.

They didnt become a superpower for being a nation of divs. Its dismissive to regard a nation of people to be stupid on the basis of a few examples.

Remember america is just a hybrid of different nationalities across the world and mainly european in origin at that so it doesnt say much for the rest of the world does it?

Some of the most intelligent people I've met have been Americans - but the general level of ignorance, in the wider community, on anything outside the sphere of their daily life is astonishing. It's not so much stupidity as they just aren't interested if it's outside of the US, or in some cases outside the state/town they live. Overall it's an indictment on the US governments for not educating people properly - but maybe it's what they want, because a dumbed down population is a good one to control and manipulate. If all you're only interested in is the next video game, the summer blockbuster, whether to go to Pizza Hut or KFC - you're a slave to the system, but you don't know it.

I like the bit when the lad is asked how many Eiffel Towers there are in Paris - his answer is something like 'hell, I don't know - about 10?'

The funnier video is Al Murray (related videos, RH side, forth one down).

"The British don't have a dream, because unlike the Americans we're awake."

Classic.

Einstein didnt know his own telephone number but you wouldn't call him dumb would you?

One thing that always strikes me with these random samples is the subjects asked about serve no useful puprose in knowing unless you regard trivial pursuit as useful
