Yes i agree "Alice" most of their names will be forgotten in a few weeks or months time, but GB has so little sporting success to shout about lets make the most of it while we can.
Anyway i understand that Sky will be showing cycling on the TV for the next four years in a sponsorship deal.
Also Rebecca Adlington from Mansfield will be having the local swimming baths named after her.
One more thing the US has not had the best of games in the track and field,
and if it had not been for Michael Phelps their overall medels would look very poor by their standards

Can't believe you are slagging off our cycling team. I know many keen cyclists who are bloody ecstatic at our success. There are more sports than football to get excited about.

Britain doesn't like success Arginald, we don't handle it well. Much better to slag off underperformers, when we achieve something we can't handle it as a nation. Build people up until they succeed then knock them down again!
Also there was a story on the Telegraph's website claiming the naked photos of the cyclists were faked. Not sure if thats true but that's what the Telegraph was claiming

Looks a bit like Rebekah Dee minus the orbs.

Victoria does look lovely, but I'm more of a Rebecca Adlington fan. In a curious way, she reminds of Josephine James!
Mmmm... Jo James... !nuts!

Have you already forgotten Chris Boardman (Gold in 1992) and Graeme Obree (world champion in 93 and 95 on his home made bike)?
I think names like Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins, Rebecca Romero, Victoria Pendleton and Jason Kenny will be remembered for a while yet.

Obree famously built his own bike (including cannibalising a part from a washing machine!) and had a very unusual riding position (since outlawed by the UCI). He then developed another bike with another unusual riding position (called the "Superman") which was also later outlawed, but not until he'd again smashed his own world One Hour record (later broken by Boardman)
Yes, track and field stars have usually taken the limelight because there is more TV air time devoted to these sports than cycling, sailing, rowing, shooting etc. However, as Brits become better and better at these other sports (and Britain have dominated track cycling for the last two years, and will continue to do so for some time yet), so television will hopefully spend a little more time broadcasting them.
It also helps when your face isn't covered by a funny shaped helmet and a dark visor!!!

The photos are of Victoria and she was naked except for a thong which was airbrushed out, so a bit of a fake, but Victoria believes that having sex before an event can boost a womens prowess, now thats my sort of girl !wink!
