Boris Johnson and the history of ping-pong...

Post by max_tranmere »

Boris just gets more whacky every time he speaks! Today, at the official Olympic handover from Bejing to London, Boris informed us of the origins of ping-pong! He told the assembled crowd that it was originally called whiff-whaff, and that it originated in Britain. He started by saying that "the Chinese love playing it, but we invented it," and that it was apparently originally played on dining tables.

Boris continued something along the lines of: "yah, yah, when those French people were using their dining tables to, well, eat dinner, we Brits were using them to play whiff-whaff! It's true. Hit something up and down the table to one another. A rather innovative use of a dining table". [the hall of people are cracking up with laughter, as are all the people visible behind him]. "So, we look forward to four years times, 2012, when WHIFF-WHAFF WILL BE COMING HOME!!" Boris said in a very truimphant manner!

Having investigated online, I can confirm that whiff-whaff WAS invented by us! Boris is one crazy dood!!

Hmmmm...

Well, no. He is a ruthlessly ambitious politician who has found that playing the fool is a vote-winner and an empire builder.

It takes someone very very clever to pretend to be someone very very foolish.

They just showed the full version of Boris's speech on Sky News. He also talked about a sport that used to exist in the Olympics many years ago which involved carrying an ox on your shoulders from one end of the stadium to the otther, then killing it, then eating it on the same day. To cries of "way hey!" and "go on Boris!", he said he was trying to convince Gordon Brown and Tessa Jowell to bring it back! Boris is brilliant!

I think Boris has the charisma to make the 2012 games something to remember, whereas Red Ken was a bit droll, but lets not forget that Ken did play a big part in bringing the games to London but Boris will reap the rewards, but good luck to him lets hope he dosnt fuck it up !wink!
