No confirmation yet.

Yes, Setanta Sports have been reporting it for the last half hour or so.
Not surprising really given the way the board have acted. I don't think KK wanted Milner to leave, it seems Barton was on the verge of being sold last night, Owen isn't being offered the contract he wants (apparently he's being asked to take a pay cut!) and in general they have sold better players than they have bought with few exceptions.

And Dennis Wise as the new manager!!
If I were a Toon fan, I think that would be the end.
And Wise to be the new manager??!
This is the man who, for his testimonial match, asked fans to write cheques out to him personally. W?$%^r.

For God's sake, give Shearer the job, let him fail, and get it out of the way.
No decent manager in their right mind will touch the job whilst they have the Shearer thing hanging over them, and whilst the situation with Dennis Wise exists.

We have need of you again, great king.
Re: Kevin Keegan gone
The odds seem to have changed in no more than an hour.
A hour ago it was Shearer 9-4 and Wise 5-1.
Now it's Wise 5-2 and Shearer 8-1.

Guttierrez looks capable and Coloccini's done okay so far. Great keeper and people seem to rate the young English lad at centre back. Owen and Martins up front are proven but the squad is thin. Nevertheless, they've got some decent players. Wrong appointment and they go, right appointment and you hold on although I could see Owen going in January if he stays fit.
Re: Kevin Keegan gone
To be honest as a Southampton fan, nothing shocks me in football. Kevin (ex saints player) seems to have left the club because the board would not back him in the transfer market and seemed willing to sell i.e Milner (who has gone), Barton (talk about Pompey) and Owen. To me, well done to Keegan at least he cares and obviously wanted to take Newcastle forward. In a sport of big time charlies at least Kev was tying to to the best for the club he clearly loves.

Re: Kevin Keegan gone
Some might see it as "well done Keegan for sticking to his guns", but football isn't ALL about who has the most money - Keegan imho has got out whilst he still had a bit of dignity intact, but truth be told I think he realised he just wasn't up to the job of taking Newcastle any further forward.
Plus I do beg to differ on the Joey Barton situation, why did he bring him on with Newcastle down 3-0 away at Arsenal then?? Did he want to provoke the Arsenal crowd or did he put him on to put him in the transfer window shop window??

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Totally agree Crofter, they have fucked him about since day one, I know he's prone to throwing his toys out and all that, but this time the anger will be directed at Ashley, and already is.
As Bob say's, who the fuck would take that job on, a real poisoned chalice.
