LOL! But it really did make me angry.

The trojan, if it's a real one or not, has been placed in quarantine.

Steganos is supposed to be one of the best AVP systems available. !confused!

No, I heard plenty of negative comments about Vista - they should stick to making boil in the bag curries. !laugh!

Said in jest I trust.

I never want Crapsta on any PC of mine.

What does it do that XP doesn't except take longer to boot, require more memory and processor power plus and a good chance any software or hardware a few years old will not work with it.

Is it more secure than XP with SP2 / SP3 - I have never heard that before.

When first released even Symantec did not have a corporate firewall for it - I assume they do now.
I only know 'cos not long afer Vista was released work ordered a laptop and expected to use one of their Symantec licences but could only install the Anti-virus. I wouldn't spend good money on their software.

Comodo Firewall, Avast Antivirus & Spyware Terminator work happily together and so far have kept the door of this PC firmly closed to the nasties.

I agree with Crofter, over the last few months I've heard lots of complaints on various websites about Steganos claiming something important was a virus. Seems like they need to do some checking into MS Updates & various other reputable software houses first.

As to whether Steganos is or is not a decent AVP, I can't say, never used it myself, I personally use Grisoft AVG, I have the full version (free edition), very regular updates as well. I've used it for years with rarely any problems.

I've upgraded to Windows XP SP3, not had any problems with flagged files showing as trojans, try checking out a new AVP proggy.

Compare with OS X - 10.5 (Leopard) runs quite happily on older hardware.

When your non-techie mother thinks Vista is rubbish, you know it's a good thing to avoid...
