In the 19th C. when it was first proposed that railway trains should operate at the unheard of speed of 60mph, the doom merchants were convinced that any number of factors including the pressure would result in the death of all the passengers.

I love these theories
"Some critics say the experiment will create "black holes" of intense gravity that could implode the Earth, or that it will open the way for beings from another universe to invade through a "worm hole" in space-time".
Bit of luck it will hollow out the planet and we can all move underground while the cleaners give the surface a spring clean before we return

I didn't find it quite such a laughing matter. One day one of these experiments will go as badly as the doom-sayers say and then it's too late to say oops.

Great experiment, but in reality it's a ?5B job creation scheme to keep these scientists in work for 15 years. work or fail, it makes no difference, they'll come up with another money spinner for the next 15 years. Remember the blokes in on this are the same types who make a living out of pushing global Warming. Interesting, but a load of old tosh - but in a way I wish it would create a black hole.

I really look forward to the day you make an informed comment, but I shan't hold my breath!

"But how to make Liverpool economically prosperous? If only there was some way for Liverpudlians to profit from going on and on about the past in a whiny voice."

Re: Extinction Level Event!!!!
As if you know any more about it than me. I've followed reports about it for about the last year. I would think the most startling conclusion they may come to is they'll realise what they've told us in the past is in fact a load of bollocks - because theories are just that, theories. Time to start again with another bunch of theories, until they're debunked. Like I said, it is interesting what they're doing - only trouble is they don't know that much when all is said and done.
